Rotobrush Duct Sealing & Repair: The Sacramento Owner’s Guide
If your Rotobrush air duct cleaning system has a failed seal, cracked gasket, or worn brush head, we stock the replacement parts and can usually install them within one to two business days throughout Sacramento. A typical Rotobrush duct sealing and repair job in our area runs between $95 and $285 installed, depending on which component failed and how much disassembly the machine needs. Most Sacramento owners discover the problem the same way: the vacuum pull drops off mid-job, the brush stops spinning true, or fine dust starts escaping from a seam that used to hold tight.
We’re an independent Sacramento service provider, not affiliated with Rotobrush, but these machines are a core part of what our technicians work on every week. We run Rotobrush equipment on our own trucks, so the failure points are familiar to us from daily use, not just from a parts catalog.
Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To
The sealing and repair work we do covers the Rotobrush aiR+ series, the BRH and BRD brush heads, and the older AG and 500 series units still running in plenty of Sacramento vans and garages. The compatibility gotcha most owners hit is the brush head shaft diameter: the aiR+ line uses a narrower drive shaft than the legacy 500 series, and a seal that fits one will not seat on the other. Before ordering anything, we confirm the model number off the data plate on the motor housing and measure the shaft with calipers.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question: Rotobrush OEM seals and gaskets are well made, but portions of the aiR+ series have been subject to supply delays. We stock both OEM parts and quality equivalents from suppliers we have vetted over years of daily use. If an aftermarket part batches correctly and holds tolerance, we will tell you that plainly. If OEM is the safer call because the part is a wear-critical shaft seal, we will tell you that too and order it without padding the price.

Signs Your Rotobrush Duct Sealing & Repair Is Failing
- Dust escaping from the canister seam during operation. The lid gasket or the vacuum seal ring has compressed past its usable life. Sacramento’s dry air accelerates rubber hardening, so gaskets here tend to fail a year or two sooner than in coastal climates.
- The brush head wobbles or vibrates noticeably during rotation. Usually the brush head bearing or the drive shaft seal has worn, not the brush itself. Running it in this condition rounds out the shaft seat and turns a $95 seal job into a more involved repair.
- Reduced vacuum pull even with a clean filter. Air is entering somewhere it should not, typically through a cracked hose cuff or a failed canister seal. The machine still spins, but the cleaning performance drops off enough that jobs take longer and leave more behind.
- The hose connection pops loose mid-job. The locking collar or the cuff gasket has stretched. This one is easy to ignore and easy to fix, but it will not fix itself, and it will worsen every time the hose is flexed.
- A high-pitched whistle or hiss while the unit runs. That is air being pulled through a small gap in a seal. It is the earliest warning sign you will get, and catching it then keeps a minor repair from becoming a canister replacement.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Sacramento, most Rotobrush duct sealing and repair jobs on our schedule land between $95 and $285 fully installed. A lid or canister gasket runs $95 to $140. A brush head bearing and drive seal runs $145 to $210. A hose cuff or locking collar repair runs $75 to $120. If the canister itself has cracked or the motor shaft seat has rounded out, that is a bigger job, and we will show you exactly why before any work starts.
Every quote is a single written price for the whole repair, parts and labor together, agreed to before we touch the machine. No per-hour billing, no surprise line items. The work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it is not right, we come back and make it right. You will also get a photo of the completed repair before we load the machine back into your van or hand it off at your door.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look for visible cracks in the canister, feel for a loose hose connection, and note whether dust is escaping from an obvious seam. What you should not do is open the motor housing or attempt a shaft seal replacement without the right pullers and calibration tools. Getting a seal half-seated or a bearing slightly cocked will destroy the shaft seat, and that converts a small repair into a canister or motor replacement we would rather help you avoid.
Paul Adeyemi, who owns Mortons Air Duct Sacramento, will tell you the same thing he tells our techs: the Rotobrush is a workhorse, but its seals are not forgiving of improvised tools. If you are in Sacramento and the machine is losing pull or leaking dust, call (279) 239-4171 and we will give you an honest assessment over the phone before you spend a dollar.
FAQs
In Sacramento conditions, with regular commercial or heavy residential use, most Rotobrush seals and gaskets last three to five years, though the dry summer air and frequent temperature swings inside a work van can shorten that to two to three. Call (279) 239-4171 if your machine is leaking dust or losing pull, and we will tell you honestly whether it is time.
No, and we do not recommend trying. Seals and gaskets on Rotobrush equipment compress and harden with age; once they start leaking, the material has already failed and a patch or adhesive will not hold under vacuum load. Replacement is the only fix that lasts.
Most jobs on our bench take 45 to 90 minutes from drop-off to test run, including a vacuum pull check and a full rotation test before we hand the machine back. We schedule the work so you are not without your equipment for days, and every repair gets a photo before we call you to pick up.
We keep the most common Rotobrush seal, gasket, hose cuff, and bearing parts on hand in Sacramento and can source OEM or equivalent parts for most models within a few business days when something unusual is needed. We also stock parts for Lennox, Trane, and Carrier equipment, though Rotobrush is what we repair most.
